Angelica Postu, a pianist and a music therapist, is the first Romanian graduate in musicology at the National University of Art Berlin and she is the founder of the Romanian Association of Music Therapy.
Born in Bucharest, she studied piano at the National University of Music, and at the same time, she attended the classes of the Faculty of Psychology. After graduating from the Masterclass in piano interpretation at the Royal Conservatory in Brussels she decided to pursue her dream of attending the Music Therapy Masterclass at the National University of Arts in Berlin, thus combining her musical passion and interest with psychology.
Angelica Postu gained her experience in music therapy at the L’esperanca Palliative Oncology Clinic in Barcelona, Spain, at the University of Psychiatry in Leuven, Belgium, and at the Vivantes Children’s Psychiatric Clinic in Berlin.
In 2017-2018 she was co-therapist in the Asperger Band project which was supported and organized by the National University of Arts in Berlin. Starting 2017 she became a member of the German Music Therapy Association (Deutsche Musiktherapeutische Gesellschaft), as the first and only Romanian female member of this Associations.
Currently, Angelica Postu works as a music therapist at the Charite Hospital’s Psychiatric University Center in Berlin, Germany. At the same time, she is involved in promoting and developing music therapy in Romania.
